Aunty Kay's Fridge
Over the years Aunty Kay has been collecting newspaper clippings of her family's achievements and it would end up on her fridge. The clippings eventually outgrew her fridge and are now a book....This page is where we share some of those endeavours and triumphs
Brendan's Vision
Brendan is married to Suzi and is a recognisable resident of Karitāne. He has appeared on Aunty Kay's fridge a number of times and has even added to Te Papa's collections for his involvement in protecting marine life. Many family members will have seen or ridden in the waka he built himself. He appeared in an article in the ODT in 2022.

Melanie's Story
As most of you know, last year Melanie was diagnosed with breast cancer. After two breast-conserving surgeries and two lots of radiotherapy treatment, Melanie ended up having a double mastectomy when further cancer was found.
She was recommended a single mastectomy and offered the path of being able to start the reconstruction process immediately.
What followed led Melanie to become part of a research project and this is her story.
